The Cruz Morel Foundation was established in early 2022 by the Cruz Morel family as a a 501.c.3 private foundation.
Our goal is to galvanize donors with ties to the Dominican Republic residing abroad to pool financial support toward scholarships for low-income youth in the Dominican Republic, particularly in Santiago and the north provinces. Donations through the foundation are tax-deductible in the U.S. up to the limits established by IRS rules.
Our approach is to partner with local nonprofits / charities in the DR to find the scholarship recipients, and with educational institutions to disburse scholarship funds directly. We also want to provide supplementary assistance for books, materials and transportation.

Who We Are
The foundation’s directors are members of the Cruz Morel family, from from Santiago, Dominican Republic.
The foundation’s President is Eva B. Cruz, a prior bank executive in the U.S. currently living in Atlanta GA. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/evabcruz).
The idea for the foundation originated in 2020, and since then we have partnered with the Mariposa DR Foundation in Cabarete to sponsor coding classes. We also provide monthly assistance to an orphanage (Fundacion Red de Misericordia) in Santiago.
We need donations and sponsorships to expand into scholarships that fund students throughout their technical or college career.
